Case Study – elnu

Archie Dunlop is a professional astrologer who has written for a number of high-profile publications including producing daily horoscopes for a major mobile phone company.

In March 2008 i-Zimbra designed and built a web site for him at the address elnu.com.

Enhancing Credibility Through the Web

elnu does not look like an astrology site, it looks more like a newspaper - it has no moons or stars, it is not purple, and the design suggests that astrology is a very serious subject.

In the early stages, the site deliberately does not actively make money. It is there to enhance Archie’s reputation as a serious astrologer and to give a taster of all his skills. Not only is there traditional information about the various star signs, there is also broader information about the news.


Appealing to Visitors and Search Engines with Original Content

A web site that has so much interesting and original blog content which is updated on a regular basis is just the sort of thing that will do well within the social media sphere.

Future developments to the site will include podcasting and video horoscopes, and as it grows we will update this page.

Summary

By designing and building a web site which stood out from its competitors and offered an original slant on its subject, and by giving Archie Dunlop the tools to regularly add new and original content to the site, we created a site which was dynamic and compelling. As a result, although the site is still very new it has already begun to achieve good results in search engines for some of Archie's blog entries about current events. As the site gets older and Archie's online reputation builds, we anticipate that the site will get better and better results in searches for its related terms.
